Workshop Supervisor

Aiken Group Ltd. is looking for an experienced Workshop Supervisor (A60 Modular cabins) to join our workshop onshore-based team in Aberdeen, on a permanent basis. 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :

  • To ensure the day to day safe and efficient operation of the workshop
  • To ensure deadlines are met, quality is to a high standard and productivity remains high
  • To oversee work of workshop team
  • To suggest improvements and efficiencies

PERSON SPECIFICATION :

  • At least 5 years’ proven experience in the similar role
  • Experienced in planning and scheduling of service work
  • Experienced in supervising workshop team consisting of mix disciplines
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with customers and peers
  • Willing to travel if required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Holds SVQ Level 3 in Joinery/Carpentry or in Engineering or an Electrical Trade
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft based applications
  • Clear driving licence
  • 15 tonnes forklift certificate would be desirable
  • Dangerous goods by air and sea certificate would be desirable
  • COSHH Assessor training or equivalent would be desirable

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

Workshop Management

  • Has a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the workshop contributes to these
  • Manages all new builds and refurbishments completed at the workshop and/or other sites
  • Reviews project specifications to determine material and labour requirements
  • Sets completion targets
  • Plans future capacity requirements
  • Uses workshop space efficiently and in per their purpose
  • Checks quality
  • Helps in the workshop when required
  • Liaises with customers, suppliers and transport companies
  • Oversees the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
  • Produces regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Responsible for waste stream management in conjunction with HSE function (fluids, packaging, scrap materials)
  • Controls storage of gas bottles in strict compliance with legislative requirements (where required)
  • Contributes to the compilation of stores operational procedures

Leadership

  • Monitors staff performance and progress
  • Participates in recruitment and training of workshop staff
  • Motivates, organises and encourages teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded

Joiner / Outfitter

Aiken Group Ltd. is looking for an experienced, at least 5 years’ time-served, outfitter (second fixer preferably) to join our Workshop onshore-based team in Aberdeen, on a permanent basis. 

Required Qualifications : SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Main Responsibilities : 

  • Experience in outfitting pressurised offshore modular cabins (including insulation) - mandatory requirement
  • Experience in installing wall panels and MDF boards (including all associated aluminium trim work)
  • Fitting internal and external doors
  • Cleaning/painting
  • Any other joinery-related duties

Person Specification : 

We are looking for a self-motivated person who can work well both on their own and within a team also to specific drawings.

A suitable candidate must be willing to learn and produce neat work to meet our high standards.

Other Requirements : 

  • Full driving licence
  • Flexibility to complete overtime when required
  • Comfortable user of Word, Outlook and Excel

HVAC / Refrigeration Engineer

Aiken Group Ltd is currently looking for a HVAC / Refrigeration Engineer with offshore experience and a current FGas certificate to carry out repairs on an air conditioning unit.

Estimated mobilisation date - 4th of September, 3 - 5 day job but this may be longer depending on the issue. Job is to change an outdoor fan motor and function test the unit.

Electrician, Onshore - Based

Aiken Group Ltd. is looking for an experienced, at least 3 years’ time-served, COMPEX qualified Electrician to join our onshore-based team in Aberdeen, on a permanent basis. 

Required Qualifications: SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent; current COMPEX EX01 – EX04

Required Training: Current offshore certification (preferable)

Requirements:

  • Experience in wiring installation of pressurised offshore modular cabins
  • Experience in carrying out work on new installations as well as in maintenance and alterations on the older ones
  • Experience in Atex inspections of installations
  • Experience in fault finding and maintenance of installations and equipment
  • Experience in Inspection and Testing
  • Experience in installation of cable enclosures
  • Experience in electrical commissioning of the modules; testing on live and dead circuits
  • Ability to work to specific drawings

 Other Requirements:

  • Experience in PAT Testing (preferable)
  • Experience in offshore installation and commissioning work (preferable)
  • Full driving licence
  • Flexibility to complete overtime when required
  • Wiling to work offshore (sporadically)
  • Comfortable user of Word, Outlook and Excel

HVAC / Refrigeration Engineer

Aiken Group Ltd. is looking for an experienced, at least 3 years’ time-served, HVAC / Refrigeration Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen, on a permanent basis.

  • Fault finding and repair
  • Diagnostics
  • Preventative services

  • Sound working knowledge of HVAC / Ref systems
  • Good working knowledge of HVAC / Ref regulations
  • Knowledge of HVAC / Ref technology and safety procedures

  • Able to demonstrate a strong installation ability
  • Full driving licence
  • Flexibility to complete overtime when required
  • Wiling to work offshore / overseas
  • Comfortable user of Word, Outlook and Excel
