HSEQ
At Aiken Group the safety and well-being of our employees, and care of our environment, are at the heart of our core values.
Continuing to achieve high standards of performance in relation to quality, health, safety, environmental and ethical matters plays an integral role in the sustainability of our long-term reputation and success and for many years the Board has ranked achievement of these goals equally with the achievement of our other major business objectives.
Health & Safety and the Environment (HS&E)
Our current Company HS&E policies were adopted in 1998 and are applied across the Company through locally adapted policies, procedures and management systems. HS&E performance is also a key area of focus for our customers.
Health
Our policy is to promote the occupational health and welfare of our staff worldwide. We aim to ensure workplace conditions are free from health risks to employees, including harm from hazardous substances, noise, vibration and stress.
Safety
It is the aim of the Company to achieve the highest practicable standards of safety for employees and those affected by our activities including contractors, customers and members of the public. Good safety practices are a combination of people, process and place and our focus is on the adoption, implementation and communication of Company standards and expectations by our businesses and the contractors who work for us.
Environment
Our policy is to minimise the impact of our activities on the environment by means of a programme of continuous improvement. In particular the Aiken Group will comply with requirements of current legislation and regulations including BS-EN-ISO:14001.
Ethical Conduct of Our Business
The Company's culture is based on integrity and respect. At Aiken Group this means adhering to the highest standards of ethical business culture. Our reputation for adhering to these standards is one of our most valuable assets. We stand by everything we do.
Quality
We recognise that quality of service is the key to increasing growth in customer base and customer satisfaction. To achieve this the Company strives to improve performance and exceed customer expectations, in part through the adoption of the internationally recognised standard ISO 9001 which emphasises process management and a structured approach to continuous improvement.
